Fresh picked Strawberries

Ok, ok... I figured I best be posting a recipe!

so, straight from my very own garden here is one of my firsts...
I made fresh strawberries:
2 cups of petite strawberries
3 Lemon basil leaves
2 TBSP. white sugar
water

* keep strawberries whole (de-top them), place in medium pot and fill with water till strawberries are submerged and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until mushy.  Remove from heat and let stand for about 10 minutes.  Use a slotted spoon and place strawberries in processor draining most of the juice before dumping into processor cup (the strawberries soaked up a lot of juice while cooking). And precede to grind and chop till it's pureed to your liking.  I usually puree till it's really nice and smooth.  Now if it's not getting smooth enough continue adding the strawberry juice from the pot SLOWLY! until it meets your standards.

*Yields about 2-3 (1/2 cup) containers
